At school she was always a sporty kid, trying her hands at everything from soccer, little athletics, netball, basketball, swimming, softball and piano lessons. In the end, swimming and basketball won out as she went through high school at Canberra Girls Grammar. She then went to University of Wollongong on an Undergraduate Scholarship, completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics with Distinction in 2003 followed by a Graduate Diploma in Medical Diagnostics at the University of Canberra in 2005. She kept fit by attending the uni gym regularly and occasionally swimming and running, but a career as an athlete was the furthest thing from her mind. She was introduced to triathlon through the Illawara Triathlon Club at a low key club Aquathon at the university pool, and was captured by the excitement of combining different sports into one. In 2004 she joined the Tridents Triathlon Club and under the guidance of Coach Ben, has risen to triathlon stardom over the past few years. Only time will tell how far she goes, but if her fierce determination, relentless dedication and desire to succeed is anything to go by, she'll be reaching some lofty heights. Stayed tuned as we follow her journey!
